European standards meeting soon to talk about bias in AI.

1-2 June 2026

Brussels, Belgium

The Engineering working group of the European Joint Technical Committee 21 is meeting in Brussels soon.

We will spend two days working on how to help organizations meet Article 10's requirements of the EU AI act:

  • what are the possible biases of the AI system?

  • are your training and testing sets representative?

  • is your data specific to the context of the AI system it will be used in?

For high-risk systems, the AI Act requires providers to take bias and data quality seriously.

Historical bias, representation bias, evaluation bias - and then AI-specific encoding bias, learning bias, and deployment bias.
